Health and Safety
This issue often causes more difficulties for clubs than any other,
and its one where the legislation applies equally to small sports
clubs as to large multinational companies. We've published
several templates and forms to the website, and thanks to a submission
from a Scottish governing body, we've recently published a comprehensive
example of a full-scale policy that you can adopt and adapt.

Running Sport
The 'Running Sport' series of booklets provide an excellent guide
to anyone engaged in club management and organisation. Several
of the booklets have been recently revised and these cover main
officer roles, funding, competitions, volunteers, and PR. All
the booklets are available for download.

Training for child protection officers
Children 1st and sportscotland are now offering training for those
taking on the role of child protection officer in sports clubs.
The three-hour workshop supports the good practice guidelines
developed by sportscoach UK and takes a very practical approach
that will help you decide what needs to be done in your club.

Club accreditation
Local authority sports development teams and national governing
bodies in Scotland should all have received invitations to four
regional consultation meetings scheduled for 9, 14, and 15 March.
Each meeting will consider the best way forward for club accreditation
in Scotland. The outcome of this consultation will be reported
here in due course.

The Help for Clubs website is being extended to include relevant
club development information for each of the home countries. As
a first step, an index page of key links for each home country is
being compiled. Please let us know if you have additional relevant
links for inclusion on this page.
