SPORTS AWARDS 2003

January 2004

Sports Awards 2003: nomination forms for the Awards will

be circulated to Club Secretaries in the New Year. These

awards are for achievements and voluntary work over the

past year. The Club or individuals can submit nominations.

Should you wish to make a personal nomination contact the

SASC Secretary for details. The 2002 Award winners are

detailed below. Please support this Local Award Scheme,

as it is important to recognise our local performers as well

as the volunteers who make it all happen.

Sports Awards Winners 2002

Look out for the new Sports Directory, which will be

out in the New Year and lists all the affiliated clubs.

Copies are sent out to all Club Secretaries, but

should you wish a copy contact the SASC

Secretary.

Sports Directory 2004

Development Plan: SASC have been putting

together a Development Plan which is now essential as

part of the Service Level Agreement we have with South

Ayrshire Council, for having received a grant of £6500 for

the year 2003/2004. An application to SAC for the year

2004/2005 is to be submitted shortly.

Proposed Club Open Meeting: Following on from

the success of last years Open Meeting, preparations

are being made for a meeting to be held early in the New

Year. Details to follow.

KA Magazine: A recent article appeared in the local

KA magazine giving a brief description of the work of the

Sports Council and highlighted the two Junior Sports

Personality Award Winners. Thanks to KA magazine for

their support.

SALSC (Scottish Association of Local

Sports Councils)

27th National Seminar 2004: This event is taking

place this year in the Normandy Hotel, Renfrew from

Friday 6th  Sunday 8th February 2004. Once again

SALSC have come up with a topical and packed

programme. Should you wish a registration form or

further information contact the SASC Secretary.

Ayr Sports Medicine Centre:

SASC continues to support the centre, based at the

Ayr Hospital, which provides comprehensive facilities for

the treatment and rehabilitation of sports related injuries.
